Dining Room remodel

We have lived in our current home for almost 8 years now, and in that time we have managed to repaint/remodel/redo almost every room in it---it was finally the dining room's turn----spurred on by the fact that our dining room table chairs had broken so many times that they were beyond repair. And hey, if you're going to get a new dining room set, you might as well redo EVERYTHING right?:) Although I offered to do the painting, Scott is just too much of a perfectionist to delegate the work to someone else,and did a fantastic job as usual. It was my original plan to decorate in an Italian/Tuscan theme based around a painting my sister had given me. I was in the process of researching some of Scott's family with geneaolgy and realized that one side of his ancestors came from Trentino Italy, so the dining room soon became somewhat of a tribute to them. I was able to locate a photo of Scott's great great granfather and family, their census record, and the Trentino crest and framed them. Aside from those, my other favorite piece hangs on the wall saying "Mangia E Statti Zitto!" which, loosely translated means "Shut up and Eat"---might sound a little harsh, but if you have ever eaten with our family, you would totally understand.
I am really loving the warmth of the room now!

Im really not kidding this time.....

So I finally got the new family blog page up and running, with the promise of updates forthcoming......and then the computer decided it wanted to reject the possibility of downloading pictures from my camera card.  SO, until I get that little problem solved, I am unable to share any photos with you, but hopefully that will be fixed really soon. My next post will update you on our family's trip to California for Spring Break :)

...and we're back.

You would THINK, with all the time I spend on the computer each day, that I would be a little more computer literate than I actually am, but to be perfectly honest, the reason our blog has been missing for several months--for anyone that has noticed--is that I was trying to redesign it, and just could NOT figure it out......and until I could get it configured, I didnt want to post anything.  It still has some kinks---I absolutely cannot get the pictures at the top to center, no matter what I do (let me know if you have the miracle cure for this, I am stumped) but other than that I think we are ready to roll again.  Look for family updates in the next few days :)
